Sony have today confirmed the long awaited release date of the new shiny iteration of the WipEout series. You’ll be able to satisfy your high speed, futuristic racing needs next Thursday, or Sep 25th if that’s how you prefer your dates. So far the game has received favourable reviews, despite that little hiccup a few weeks ago

We know that all the “issues” are in the past now, and by the look of things we’re getting something pretty special. A combination of cherry-picked tracks from previous PSP versions of the WipEout series will be available with the download. Naturally more content is promised via DLC as well.

Visuals have always been a key factor in the presentation of WipEout. So it’s reassuring to know the game comes in full 1080p and a rock solid 60fps. In a word it’s going to look beautiful. Roll on next Thursday!
