I have the disorder Epilepsy, and in my 27 years on this planet and with many of them sitting in front of a TV or Monitor playing games from the days of Sega Master System to Sony Playstation 3, I have never had a seizure or 'fit' due to these seizures.

I respect the decision however to hold a game back IF it does fail the tests for effects to an Epileptic.

Tests are compiled and actioned through sitting the subjects with the games, and connecting sensors to their head through a special device that measures brain activity and focuses on areas that the subject has had history of epileptic activity. I hope that clears the fog on the test question as well. :o)

HAPPY GAMING!

Most probably they use the Harding FPA test or a similar system. There are a variety of situations which could trigger photosensitive epilepsy so testing with one person in front of the TV wouldn't mean much towards determining if there is a bigger problem.
