Home is now live, ladles and jellyspoons, simply restart your PS3 and the Home icon will be found in the Playstation Network section of the XMB, in all it’s blue glory (which is the best kind of glory). Click the Home icon to download the client (70mb, plus around 20-25mb per area as you enter the area (it will download these in Home, with the option to do it in the background, too)). For existing beta users there is a new update (1.03) to download at 13mb. The new content (such as the Red Bull area, game areas, etc) will be going online next week, as far as we know. Now, it’s time for you to all go Home. Hop to it!

My God that was a PR disaster yesterday – I bet the Sony techs were being screamed at. The “unofficial” leak was for 2pm GMT….it finally went live about 8pm and for me personally it didn’t let me in until this morning.
Still, the harbour looks nice, and my fetching and free gray jumper looks great.
Shame I’ve managed to make my avatar look like a monkey however.
After a nightmare trying to download it, then waiting ages for it to sign me in. Home is here. Played (and won) my first game of pool, walked around, watched some trailers. So far so good.
I wasnt aware additional clothing, apparel, and furniture were sold for real life money. This is ridiculous… I was hoping for a system that would allow something like “home money” where you needed to do certain things to earn virtual cash. I am very dissappointed in sony for this. I wont be going into home again unless this is fixed.
Justin, good stay out, we dont want you in HOME anyway, personally i dont care if i have to pay .50 for a new shirt or whatever atleast we dont have to pay to be online at all like xbox, if you dont want to spend any money then dont buy anything or like you said STAY THE HELL OUT OF HOME…………
It doesnt seem 2 work 4 me. Apparently Sony Severs are crashing…any1 else suffering…
I seem to be having problems just getting the home icon to appear on the XMB. Apparatenly Sony’s severs couldnt cope and so theve blocked acess for a while.
Any1 else got any problems?
Honest to god, why would I spend $1 on a virtual couch that nobody will ever care if I have or not, or rent a second house every month. Lucky for me I got to download all the stuff for free and keep it cause I was in the closed beta, but its just a waste of money in an already tight economy.
I dont have cash to be spending in a virtual world I use maybe once a week for half an hour, and people dont have $300 to spend on a console, which is obvious in their lagging sales this quarter.
Truth is, its boring, and until it comes out with more features, not many people are going to disagree with me. If you do, use it for a week, and then come back and comment.
