UK PS3 sales reach a milestone
Being an accountant for SCE over the last year or so must have been pretty tough. In all honesty PS3 sales straight out of the blocks were alright, but not stellar. However, slow but steady seems to be working and the furrowed brows over in Sony HQ may well be a little less wrinkled at the news that the flagship console has reached a million units sold in the UK.
Courtesy of gamesindustry.biz the figures show that the PS3 actually reached this target in less time than the stallwart PS2. While Europe is generally acknowledged to be a Sony stronghold, hard data showing the gathering momentum is good news. Naturally, Sony wants the sales and a consequence of a growing user base is more confidence from developers to invest time in producing great titles, which benefits all us gamers. Champagne all round then.
