A recently posted YouTube video may just give away the identity of a further two playable characters destined for Resident Evil 5’s Mercenaries Reunion roster: Barry Burton and Rebecca Chambers, sub-characters from the original Resident Evil.

The footage explores the ‘Extra Content’ section of RE5’s Play Game menu, which will be added as part of a new patch for the title. Though Mercenaries Reunion mode and the two additional story mode chapters are locked, ‘Extra Figures’ is selectable, and bundled in with figurines of Chris and Sheva sporting additional costumes are these classic but otherwise forgotten S.T.A.R.S. members.

The re-introduction of characters from past games, together with the production of fresh content, shows us that developer Capcom is really going all-out to make RE5 the ultimate survival horror package for both newcomers and series followers.

The first batch of DLC is scheduled for February 18th; be sure to have funds in your PSN wallet before then!
