Tokyo Game Show: Will a Final Fantasy VII remake for PS3 be revealed?
The latest issue of Famitsu reveals that the long awaited Final Fantasy VII remake for Playstation 3 may be announced at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.
According to PSPSPS, Famitsu got the chance to interview several Square Enix staff members including executive producer Yoshinori Kitase, producer Hideki Imaizumi, director Hajime Tabata, and character designer Tetsuya Nomura. They discussed, among other topics, Crisis Core for the PSP, which happens to fill up an entire UMD, and future Square Enix projects.
When the topic of a Final Fantasy VII remake was brought up, they mentioned that the issue with the game is timing but that they are planning to announce a secret new game at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. It’s definitely not Kingdom Hearts III because that game was already announced to be unveiled at the show.
If a FFVII remake was introduced, there’s no doubt that PS3 sales would skyrocket especially if Sony were to announce a price drop on their 80GB PS3. If Sony and Square Enix know what’s good for them, they’d better get that remake out the door.
And if Capcom knows what’s good for itself, it better get the next Marvel vs. Capcom out the door as well! When are these companies going to start listening what customers want?

I’ve been hearing a lot of rumour of Square Enix wanting to jump ship on the PS3 for the 360. I will be seriously disappointed with Square Enix if they jump ship on the PS3. I believe loyalty is a really important thing and because I’ve always been loyal to Square’s offerings, I’ve bought just about everyone of their RPG games for the PS2. I plan to do the same for the ones on the PS3.
The thing is that the fans who love Square Enix bought a PS3 partially for them and I think we deserve some loyalty as well. It is like you like a girl and you go to a school (the most expensive one out of three) because she said she would go there too, but it turns out she goes to yours and the other one you were considering and is already doing extracurricular in the last one. It might be a crude analogy, but I think it gets the point across. Loyalty might not be worth a lot (I mean it is just one pre-order for each of the games for me when it gets out), but I hope in this modern day it still counts for something.
great this sucks! y oh y does it have to be for the system i cant afford lol. i think that they would make alot more money if they made available to ps2 and ps3 and Ruibing if i understand what your saying maybe you can try and contact them(this is if they do switch to xbox 360 and not stay with ps3) and convince them to make it available to ps3 and xbpx 360 and while your at it ps2 also lol
