The U.S doesnt need Square Enix
In todays hotbox of over supplied competitive console games why would Square Enix even contemplate sourcing a U.S Partner, or on the other hand why would a US company even consider partnering with a Japanese based games developer that has clearly over the last few months lost its way.
The answer is simple in most aspects, the overall games market within Japan has been overheated for many years with such a wide range of diverse range of games and console sidelines.
At best the market has been stagnent with limitless room for expansions with developers and marketers with the region. The hope of aligning it self with a US based developer or games franchise promises riches and can also provide access to proprietary games engines that in an ordinary environment would be out of its reach.
Square Enix would even be able to partner with a niche developer that had access into the US and overseas market. What does this mean for industry who knows, but im sure many a SAKI will be drunk discussing this in the coming months.

Are u giving Square-Enix shit or are u saying Square-Enix is good in the US anyway to good it doesnt need US publisher.
But i am really angry they didnt announce an FFVII Remake
There still time they didnt announce the remake yet
If they were to choose a publisher, I hope they don’t pick EA or Microsoft. EA will destroy the Final Fantasy and Star Ocean series, and Microsft wouldn’t do much different, they would just monopolize it for their 360 and then release it half a decade later for the PC. These days too many publishers care more about profit than quality of games, especially EA.
I think they are better to just publish their own games. Which RPG fans have not heard of Square Enix. FFVIII was my first RPG game.
