Sony will catch up with PS3 demand according to Tretton

Jack Tretton said the supply of PS3 should catch up to demand around April or May of this year. When asked about the rumor of unsolved PS3 sitting in store shelves throughout United States and Japan, Tretton responded with ?It’s a testament to the fact that we’ve been able to manufacture and ship units on a greater pace than any previous console. “Our goal is to fill shelves across the United States. Our goal is not to have empty shelves, it’s to have full shelves. If we have empty shelves, that’s one less consumer who could have bought a PlayStation 3,”
This guy can spin it like nobody?s business. I highly doubt it?s the Sony?s efficient supply chain that?s keeping the PS3 units on the shelves. It?s the high price and lack of any marquee games that?s keeping them on the self. Hell, even the price point isn?t really a problem in my opinion. Average gamers are now older than the era of PS1 or SNES which indicate more disposable income. It?s the lack of any decent game that?s hurting PS3 sales right now. PS3 sales should pick up significantly in second and third quarter this year with the release of highly anticipated games.
