Sony UK chief reveals launch numbers

According to Sony UK chief, United Kingdom will receive 220,000 PS3 consoles for the UK launch. UK chief, Ray Maguire, was recently interviewed by trade publication MCV. In the interview, he states that he might be able to cajole Sony into giving UK little more than the projected 220,000 units. Also, Maguire explained that UK game sales contribute to 22% of total PAL market, which includes Europe, Middle East, and Australasia. Maguire also explained the 425 GBP price for UK. He states that the unfavorable exchange rate has hampered the price point and he hopes to bring down the price as soon as possible.
