Sony: PS3 Launch date set and 2 tier prices have been confirmed
Folks, disregard all the speculations and rumors about PS3 launch date and prices. Sony has finally confirmed the launch date to November 17 and the PS3 will have 2 different price schemes. Hooray for the news! Us fanboys and future owners have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Sony has kept us dark for a very long time with ambiguous hints and tidbit information for past 2 years. Finally we are seeing the light at the end is very bright and full of hope. Ok enough of hugging each other and lets get down to the business. In a news conference Monday, Sony has officially announced that consumers will see a worldwide simultaneous launch of PS3 console on November 17, 2006. Sony is heavily banking on this next-gen system that will compete aggressively against Xbox 360 and win the hearts of video gamers. Furthermore, this will boost Sony”s financial situation tremendously as the video game division tops the company”s earnings.

The pricing structure similar to Xbox 360 pricing scheme when it was released in November of 2005. However, consumer has to shell out additional $100 to $200 more for PS3 than Xbox 360. It does not seem to bother consumers as PS3 comes with Blu-Ray drive as well online capability. Consumers, on the Internet, are frantically looking to pre-order PS3 as the launch date nears.
