According to IGN, Sony will be launching a PlayStation 3 budget game line in in Japan, which will be known as “PlayStation 3 The Best”. The budget line will sell big selling titles at a lower price range, with special packaging, similar to Sony’s past “Greatest Hits” and “Platinum” budget lines.

Confirmed games for the first batch of “PlayStation 3 The Best” budget titles are:

Resistance
FolksSoul
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Gundam: Target in Sight
Ridge Racer 7

The game will be released under the new banner on March 19 for 3,800 yen (£18).

There’s are no plans for a budget line in Europe or America yet, according to Sony, but it’s very early in the PS3’s shelf-life, so it’s only a matter of time.
