Sony Gets Foxconn to Start Producing Lower Cost PS3s

In an continuing effort to reduce costs and drop the selling price of the Playstation 3 console, Sony has partnered up with Foxconn to produce hardware to provide gamers with a lover-cost PS3 console.
ASUSTek has been the main manufacturer of the console’s hardware, but Foxconn is certainly no stranger to making consoles for Sony. Currently Foxconn produces Sony’s Playstation 2 console, in which sales are still well over the PS3, and also components for the Xbox 360 and Wii consoles.
Rumors have been reported that Sony is expected to reduce the 80GB model to $499 and additionally introduce a entry-level 40GB console priced at $399.
