UK technology site Vnunet.com is reporting that Sony is close to losing $2 billion USD for developing and manufacturing PS3. As of today, Sony has lost close to $1.65 billion. It should not be too much concern for Sony as game console makers usually lose money on console development and sales. Manufacturers make their money on software sales. Sony is expected to pick up momentum with the release of great games such as Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid.
