Sony announces first 20 movies on Blu-Ray disc
Benjamin S. Feingold, president of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, recently announced at a press release that Sony will be releasing 20 movies on Blu-Ray discs this spring with possibilities of adding Java content as well. The first twenty movies are from Sony and MGM and some of them are House of the Flying Daggers, Hitch, RoboCop, Resident Evil:Apocalypse, and T.V series Stargate: Atlantis. A few movies from the list will be made available on 50GB dual layer Blu-Ray discs in the summer packed with extra content.
“Beginning this Spring, SPHE will support the rollout of BD-compatible players, PCs and drives from a variety of consumer electronics and computer companies by offering a wide-breadth of high-definition movies and other promotional materials,” said Feingold. “With the announcement of these first 20 titles, I am delighted to say that the age of Blu-ray has truly arrived.”
Folks, High Definition era is coming sooner than we think. Embrace yourselves because Sony will deliver the Blu-Ray technology with PS3 in 2006. Yes, it will be a good year after all.

Interesting article. HD movies will take up to 10 to 15 gb and java games to max out on a single layer 25 GB Blu-Ray. But what additional content can be stored on 50
GB dual layer disc? It seems like a bit of waste if they dont add anything else but movie and java content. Hopefully Sony will entertain us with massive storage on Blu-Ray disc
