Sexiest Game Characters: Male
This post is for the ladies. This is just my opinion, but I think that too often are we bombarded with news about how hot the women are in many of today's games. I know they are trying to reach out to men by putting something pretty in amongst all the gore and violence, but isn't it only fair if we as girls get to have something nice to look at while we play too?
I have spent quite a while trying to decide who are the hottest male game characters being offered, and not just blatantly going for the over masculine macho type. Basically, I have tried to pick who I would like most to become a real person and fulfil all my fantasies, like making me a sandwich or doing some laundry. Here are my top 3:
For those of you who may not know who this is, this is Jin Kazama. Jin is the best looking thing to come from the entire Tekken series in my opinion - he made his first appearance in Tekken three and has starred in every title since. The youngest ever Tekken champion is at the top of my list as sexiest male game character not only because of chiseled good looks, very well styled hair, a body to die for and a well renowned devil tattoo. Perhaps those are all pretty shallow and objectifying reasons but I stand by them. Jin is a troubled soul, his mother raised him alone till he was a teen and was then brutally killed, he shares genes with the devil and hurts all of those he loves dearly...still, I wouldn't say no.
Next up, Chris Redfield. The no nonsense, blunt tough guy. One of the main characters of the first Resident Evil title, returning as a playable character in Resident Evil Code: Veronica and again as the main character in Resident Evil 5 - Chris is handsome to say the least, he's adventurous, clever, funny: Like Bruce Willis with extra sexy hair but unlike Bruce Willis, when I think of Chris, I ask myself "Good Lord, what on earth is wrong with your biceps?" I like the gym as much as the next lazy person but I can't imagine what amount of bicep curls paired with protein shakes is required to achieve such a ridiculous arm size. Although, I'm pretty sure if he wanted to carry me off into some zombie infested African village with his stupidly big arms, i'd let him.
Last, but certainly not least - Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy. Perhaps not hot in the same way as the other two since he has slightly more feminine qualities. He's still strong and muscular like the other two and he can fight his way out of trouble with his iconic buster sword like the other two, but he's sexy in a different way. He's blonde with the most striking blue eyes, he's sensitive and well... he's just quite pretty for a man. I found myself really enjoying Final Fantasy and especially any cut scenes with cloud in them because he's just so gosh darned lovable. He is perhaps the Lara Croft of the male game characters - In my opinion, no one in real life will look exactly like Cloud Strife making him perfect for all the girls who want what they can't have!
Personally, I could go on forever about who game men I would like to meet in real life but I tried to limit to my top three. For all the women out there reading this, do you agree? Are these the hunky monkey's you would pick if you could turn a game character into a real person and make them do the dishes and hoover your living room? Or do you think that there would be some other gaming beef cake better suited to catering to your every whim? Drop me a comment or two and let me know what you think. Also, if you are a man reading this, well done for making it this far.

I definitely think there is a change going on within the gaming industry to particular reflect the popularity of men's fashion but more importantly, the change between gender roles especially in Japan. It is noticable that you mention Cloud as how he is presented in Advent Children and subsequent spin offs rather than how he is presented within the actual game. I would say Cloud definitely represent new men's fashion in Japan and how fashionable and attractive men are supposed to look somewhat androgynous (as inspired by the visual kei movement) - and bloody hell how ridiculously well it works out.
I also think there is a fine line between good-looking and sexy. While a man or a woman can be both, I think there are different attributes to aspire so a sexy woman is usually associated with large breasts, thin waist and large, red lips (i.e. Lara Croft) but a sexy man is more commonly associated with a mascular body and somewhat macho persona. Aerith on the other hand is good-looking, and so is Cloud.
Long story short, I like the change that there is room for more good-looking men who are not overly muscular and macho within the gaming industry, as a way to recogonize the increasing female player base, but also to attest that real men cannot look like the men in say, World of Warcraft. Look at how Blizzard designed the male avatar for Diablo III, this is what I am talking about. Also on a positive note, the female barbarian does not look like your typical female fantasy hero, and I definitely like the female power radiated from the female wizard avatar.
Nathan Drake is a funny sort , he tried hitting on me ?

Max, you've missed out plenty of classics: solid snake (young or old ;) ), as nexuiz said, what about Nathan Drake? Plus, there's so many more out there too: Ryu from Street Fighter, Squall from FFVIII to name but a few...
what about Nathan Drake?
once again I was not mentioned ?
