Rumor: Next GTA on PS3 set in London?
Someone who happened to have close tide with developer Rockstar has tipped off Joystiq about upcoming GTA series for the PS3. The title will be called GTA: London and it will take place in 1997. The person who reported this did not seem to have credible source or verifiable information. To us, this seem a bit on the fake side then having even a bit of substance. GTA series in the past always took place in the infamous cities of U.S not on a foreign ground. Majority of people who read the article on Joystiq concur as well that most likely this rumor is fake. Here is what the tipster sent to Joystiq: According to our source (who admittedly doesn”t have the most perfect spelling), the “3 Island” system will be replaced by a new “North, East, South, West” system, and the main character will be an ex-gangster starting off in the “rough-and-tumble east end of London.” Unlocked regions are to include the North End, South End, and West End, in order. The game is supposed to be about 60% finished, with the graphics and physics engines both completed. The focus is now mainly on the game”s story component. The game is currently set to launch with the PS3 in North America and Europe in Q4 2006. Apparently you are wrong. Have you ever heard of GTA london for the ps1 asshole. Just letyting u know that it London was a GTA game that took place on a foreign city. GTA london is most likely will be the next GTA for PS3.

Hey, just because you think that american stereotypes of the british are posh, tea-drinking gays is true, then you are for the most part mistaken. I do not see all americans as fat drunks who go to sport events to eat more hot dogs, i can see past stereotypes. Anyway, concerning the game, i think it would be a wicked game, and would definitely bring a change to the vast desertland seen in San Andreas. However, i dont think this will be the next GTA game as The Getaway has already worked on a London game.

it makes sense to me after all, the three city’s in gta 1 for PSone we’re in order :Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas, as GTA London came after GTA1 it makes a lot of sense and is pretty logical

It would be great if GTA returned to London. Someone said that London is SO poshy well they OBVIOUSLY have never been because London isn’t just a city, it’s an AREA in itself. There’s the central area which most know as where Big Ben, The Eye, etc are. But then there’s Greater London like Lewisham, Greenwich, Woolwich, Plumstead, etc and especially the eastern side of London which aren’t posh at all.
I’m an American who has lived in Greater London for the past TWO years and I can say from experience that not all of London is posh and in fact, the only POSH place in London is New Bond Street.

BTW I agree with Wayno because London is TEEMING with crime. Especially that there are so many ASBO’s and chav’s running around. ASBO is Anti Social Behaviour and it doesn’t mean someone sticking to themselves. It means young people constantly breaking the law. Chav means someone with no class - a lot of ignorant people who know nothing about London or the UK in general are Chavs.
Guns are now sweeping into the streets replacing the stabbing violence. So don’t you for one second believe that London is a safe place to live. Kids around the age of 11, 12.. seem to think it’s cool to MURDER people and they do it for no reason!!
I blame America for the idea that guns are cool. It’s the idea that guns make someone a powerful person rather than a stupid person. GTA has been set in london before and at its time it was a very fun game. no matter what city it is set in it will allways get 10/10, you can always tell its gta. its great set in miami,new york etc. if its set in london it will still be great. London is not posh at all there is guns there knifes and other stuff i dont live there but i do watch the news, i live in liverpool and even there theres a lot of crime. my point is that ENGLAND is violent and not posh. first one person stated that america gave london the whole gun idea so how is a country who is copying the us worse? ( i have been to london and im must say ive felt safer there than i’ve ever felt in the us. maybe its because im of a mixed decent and rednecks ,in the south where i stay, are still killing black people (which i am half) behind close doors and then go and police the freeways at their day job
or maybe its the fact that even after katrina new orleans and neworleans people are still some of the most ruthless people as far as violence goes.

i’ve played the london one that came out already and as someone else said gta will always be great , and it was. if the next gta is set in london it would be cool, i just think they should branch out to more cities
