Hulu’s new video streaming service is coming to the PS3, but there’s a catch; it’s going to cost you. Hulu Plus will run you $9.99 monthly and will give you access to huge back catalog of TV shows and all the new episodes to most of your favorite shows. Sounds great doesn’t it? On demand TV for only $10 a month. Well that might not be completely true.

There are reports that Hulu Plus will also require the new PlayStation Plus service in order to work. That may be ok for some people, but it's a big bummer for those who were not planning to get PlayStation Plus but did plan on getting the upcoming Hulu Plus service. I am one of those people, so I instead decided to get Netflix and use its on demand service.

PlayStation Plus may only cost users $49.99 a year, or $17.99 for three months if you choose to go that route, and will give them access to discounts, free content (including games), and early demo and beta access. But to an individual who simply doesn’t want it that equals an incredible waste of money.

One thing that would truly be fantastic though would be if Sony and Hulu forged a deal that allowed all PlayStation Plus users free access to Hulu Plus, not only would it please Plus users (the PlayStation ones) but would also make PlayStation Plus more competitive with Xbox Live Gold.

I feel that Sony and Hulu are making a mistake by requiring users to sign up for multiple services to enjoy just one of them. What do you think do you think this is a wise decision by Sony/Hulu?
