First of all let’s start by applying rumour liberally all over this for the moment. Ok good. Now that’s out of the way let’s move on. The latest edition of Official Playstation Magazine mentions the coming of GTA and GTA 2 to the PSN for download. If this is true it could be a nice pre-GTA IV marketing move by those crazy kids at Rockstar, although since G-Day is fast approaching that might not be feasible. 

In addition to top-down street violence the magazine also heralds the arrival of Street Fighter Alpha onto the PSN’s fair shores (also fitting quite nicely with a current gen iteration). No official confirmation or denial as yet but as several members of the blogosphere have pointed out: you can get GTA and GTA 2 for free from the Rockstar Classics website. Of course free means providing contact information, and therefore selling your soul to Lucifer’s marketing department.

Should this come to pass the pricing of said games will be quite important. However, whether you think paying for free content is an affront to your civil rights or you don’t mind opening your wallet: it would still be great to see more top notch titles hitting the PSN
