PSN Video Store still has problems

For those of us who have access to the video store, you may or may not have noticed a bug in the interface. Specifically, I am speaking of the “downloads list,” and it may interest you to know that it does not work in the video store.

In case you don’t know what the downloads list is, it is an interface in the PSN store (Game & Video) that keeps track of ALL your downloads from the Playstation Network. The purpose of it allows users to redownload anything they have previously downloaded before. This is useful should you need to format your hard drive or upgrade to a bigger one so that you don’t need to repurchase the content downloaded. However, the downloads list in the video part of the store doesn’t work. Anything you purchase will only be added to the download list for a couple of hours or until you revisit the store, depending on the situation, not unlike the game section in which all downloads remain. This problem is most likely a bug overlooked by SONY when they were designing the store to make you unable to continually download rented movies without paying the full price. Unfortunately, this also applies to purchased movies and TV episodes, (anything deleted must be repurchased.) If you have access to the video store it is recommended that you hold off on buying any videos until this error is fixed.
