PSN Download – MGS4 Interactive Database
Now, I know what you’re thinking, “database?” that sounds like work right? Well hold on a minute, because this one is different. It’s a database Kojima-style which contains every nugget of Metal Gear info you could ever want to know.
The Metal Gear series is known for several things: innovative stealth gameplay, cinema-standard production values, self referential humour…and epically convoluted storylines. Over the length of some twenty years the MG saga has twisted and turned so much that bookend players like myself (played MGS and MGS4 only) or new converts to Kojima’s opus may need to nerd up on their Snake lore.
The Interactive Database features complete storylines, character profiles and relationship diagrams plus more as yet unannounced content. In addition, there is built-in spoiler protection if, like me, the pesky responsibilty of work keeps you from completing it. Revealing content is apparently blacked out until you finish the game. Neat.
The database should be available to download for free from the PSN today.

This Database sounds like it’s going to be extremely cool, and I really want to get my hands on it, but sadly, I live in Europe, so I’m going to have to wait!
I’ve got a crazy idea! I’ll go play the game while I’m waiting…

Does anyone know when the download will be available? It’s 5pm in New York and nothing yet.
This is where US MGS4 owner who lives in Australia is going to have a BIG disadvantage…………….
