Wow what an opening!! Have always wanted to write for a computer magazine (in this case an online one)since a teenager. Not into any of this "Playstation is better than Xbox" crap in which the internet is awash with these days. Am just an honest guy who has loved video games since his first Amstrad CPC464 many years ago and even more unbelievably i also have a girlfriend. Not into any genre of game in particular if i like a game then i like a game!! Without sounding big headed i am also amazing at practically every game i go on, it's one of the very rare gifts God saw fit to grace me with.
Well thats me in a nutshell so if you are mad enough to consider me then feel free to ask me anything.

Dear PS3Vault

I was wondering if you would have a part time position available as I am starting university in October so I will not be able to consider full time employment, however, I would like to write articles for you as I am a dedicated fan of your site. I own/have owned a PS1, PS2 and PS3. Many of my friends have Xbox 360s and/or PS3s and my brother has a Wii so I will be able to do any comparisons or assist in getting responses to any polls/studies that you decide to undertake.

Admittedly I am not a professional journalist nor do I have much in the way of relevant experience, however I do have qualifications in I.C.T., English literature and language (with part of my literature course involving media based studies). Would it be possible for me to work on a flexible basis, possibly being paid per article that I submit or something of a similar nature?

As you can no doubt tell, I have never worked in the media industry before, however I am a fast learner and an avid gamer as well as a news hound. In addition to this I have recently received an invite to the Starcraft 2 multiplayer beta. Whilst this is not a PS3, or even console game, it has given me the opportunity to talk to some of the Blizzard employees and as such I may be able to expand PS3Vault's list of contributors within the gaming industry through recommendations by some Blizzard employees.

hi, i'm from portugal, europe, my portuguese psnid is Night_Wave, i also have a us account and qore subscriber and a japanese account so that i can stay always up to date with my greatest hobbie, gaming. i'm also a information enthusiast, i'm always on top of all things playstation, i use very sources daily to stay up to date. as for writing... i don't have the experiece, but i'f you put me to the test, i know i won't disapoint. hit me back...

I have a passion for gaming and i love my playstation 3 and i want to express it on the website.

It has always been my dream to write articles on games because gaming is passion of mine which has been there since my first console, the N64. I consider myself able to learn any skills reuqired for the job quickly and also settle myself into the team quickly. I follow almost all of the major gaming conventions round the year despite the fact that I am not able to attend it. If you require a sample of how I would review a game, please do not hestitate to contact me and let me know. I'm interested in becoming staff for a writing site. I've done a few reviews of games on Game informer. I generally have an unbiased when I blog. I am on the computer at least 7 hours a day.

I know alot about about the playstation 3(and respectively the 360 and Wii) and I overall just fee I'm the best for the job. Good luck to other applicants.

How to use external hard drive on your ps3

Trying to format a large external USB or Firewire hard drive to the FAT32 file system? Can’t do it? Only see an option for formatting the drive using the NTFS file
format? Well if you answered yes any of those questions, then you’re at the right place.
I was recently trying to format my 1 TB MyBook external hard drive in Windows XP to FAT32 instead of the overly forced-upon NTFS format. Why? Well because I needed to connect it to a NAS device and the NTFS permissions were causing the NAS not to be able to access the drive. Simple solution is to use FAT32, no security, no problems. Though it’s sometimes useful to format a USB drive in NTFS format.
Also, formatting a drive in FAT or FAT32 will allow it to be read by other operating systems, such as Mac, Linux, and older versions of Windows such as Windows 98.
Unfortunately, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 will only format a removable drive in FAT32 if it’s less than 32GB! Hmmm…that pretty much cuts out ALL modern external hard drives!
However, Windows can format a drive that is larger than 32GB in FAT32, but you have to use the DOS command prompt. However, if you have a drive that is 1TB or larger, you may still get an error saying “The volume is too big for FAT32”.
In that case, you can use a free program called SwissKnife that will allow you to format an external hard drive that is up to 2TB in size. Let’s go through both methods. In case you are having problems getting your external hard drive to show up in Windows, read my article on how to change the drive letter for an external drive in Windows.
Format external drive
in FAT32 using DOS
Open a command window by going to Start, then Run and typing in CMD.

Now type in the following command at the prompt:
format /FS:FAT32 X:
Replace the letter X with the letter of your external hard drive in Windows. Windows will go ahead and begin formatting the drive in FAT32!

Create a folder system identical to that on the Playstation 3 by creating folders labeled "Picture" (not Photo), "Music", "Video" and "Game"
Then plug into ps3
Or download fat32formatter press go add folders plug in to ps3
Format external hard drive in FAT32 using SwissKnife
SwissKnife is a nifty little program that is completely free and that you can use to format many types of external drives such as USB, Firewire, PCMIA, SATA and SCSI. You can also use it to create partitions on an external hard drive and it formats faster than Windows.

So next time you want to format a hard drive in FAT32 and Windows only gives you an option for NTFS, make sure to follow one of the 3 method mentioned above. Enjoy!

I would defintley be interested in getting on board with you guys here at PS3 vault. Im a big fan of the gaming industry as a whole but especially the PS3 side. I have been doing game reviews for a short time now and have been really enjoying them and I am looking to branch out further there a little bit and move into the journalism side of the gaming industry. I have also recently just started my very own blog just to share my views on gaming related topics etc. Any more info you need feel free to contact me.

Although I don't own a PS3 at present (selling my Wii to get one) I have beta'd and written about many games over the years of having consoles (If a C64 can be called a console for a starting point).
I used to made mods/skins/etc.. for Quake 3 and UT.

I work from home so can be online pretty much all day everyday.

i think i would be good because i had a ps3 within the frst month they came out and know alot and i like to do reviews,guides and stuff like that.
