Today Electronic Arts held a Madden 09 Launch Party for their employees and we were there! First I have to say, EA does launch parties right. Forget stuffy ballrooms, EA brought out humongous sports simulation games, lots of great BBQ worthy of Madden himself and, though they had nothing to do with it, weather to make it all perfect.

While Madden 09 doesn’t launch until Tuesday, rest assured, it will be incredible. In one small bit of irony, Bret Favre is still on the cover in his Green Bay uniform, something I’m sure Packers and Jets fans are neither too happy about. But if you’ve seen the demo, you should already be getting your $59.95 ready for Tuesday morning.

The launch event featured a wide variety of football related carnival style games – field goal kicking, training camp style obstacle courses complete with a tackle sled and even the opportunity to tug-of-war your friends and coworkers into submission. We got there as the event was getting set up and, after clogging our arteries with some incredible pulled pork, sausages and other various dead farm animals, took an extended tour of the campus. I gotta tell you, this is a place to work. I’ve been to the campus before but this was my first extensive tour and I’m considering sending my resume on over.
