New Hanover County District Attorney David said the investigation into the shooting of suspected PS3 robber would continue despite the false indictment of the police offer Long. The foreman of the grand jury apparently marked wrong box prompting the judge to overturn the indictment. Because of this, the lawyer for Long has claimed that there is no probable cause to continue the investigation. Officer Long was sent to serve warrant to Strickland and two other suspects. During the arrest officer Long fired fatal shot that eventually killed Strickland.
