The original plan to launch PS3 simultaneously world wide has been scrapped due to shortage of components, especially Blu-Ray components. Sony has made official statement that PS3 will be launched in Europe by March of 2007. However, Computerandvideogames.com has recently been tipped off by an unnamed source that yet again, due to the component shortage, mainly the blu-ray component, will interfere with PS3 launch in March throughout PAL territories. A lot of speculations taking place and some stating that PS3 launch in Europe will take place in September however, when contacted by Computerandvideogames.com, Sony UK spokesman reaffirmed that “We’re 100 percent on track for a March release”. Furthermore, Sony’s Euro boss added, “We’re still on schedule to launch PS3 in March, throughout the PAL territories… and all speculation otherwise, is without foundation”.

In my opinion, I would rather Sony delay couple of months to add more launch titles for Euro gamers as suppose to limited launch titles for the U.S launch. Any Sony employees would like to comment on this rumor? Or maybe little bit of clarification? E-mail us or leave comments.
