PS3 pre-orders red hot in UK

Retailers across the UK are reporting that the pre-order for PS3 is the biggest pre-order for any consoles. Gerry Berkley, head of games at Woolworth, told GamesINdustry.biz that PS3 pre-order was the fastest selling game product in company history. He predicts that the demand will be greater than the allocated supply for the UK region. Also, Amazon is reporting that PS3 pre-order is second only to the last Harry Potter installment. Recently, Amazon had to stop taking pre-orders in order to make sure they had enough allocation. On the heels of these reports, Sony has promised to fulfill its obligation to provide large enough supply for the European launch.
