In this update, we will be covering the latest status of PS3 pre-order and future updates. First and foremost, we appreciate your on going support on sending us the latest information in regards to pre ordering ps3/reserving ps3 which helped us tremendously on forecasting how this will all turns out. From the beginning of this project, we primary goal was to give accurate information on PS3 pre-order to our readers so that we can help eliminate frustration on the day of PS3 release (We all remember the PS2 craze back in 1999). We posted pre order news based on e-mails that were sent to us on our website, and we came to find out that the information given to us were not informative enough to be beneficial to our readers until further observation was made. Therefore, we decided to wait closer to release date to collect more viable information from our readers, and after we had read enough e-mails we decided to present our findings on this update.

PS3 Pre Order Status: Folks, no company has made an official announcement on PS3 pre order at this time! Numerous retailers will not proceed with taking pre orders on PS3 until Sony unveils concrete allocation plan. In other words, as of right now Sony has not made clear announcement as to exactly how many PS3s will be available in U.S on the release date. Many will speculate but retailers will not take PS3 pre orders until facts have been revealed.

However, certain retailers and online shops will let you get on their PS3 list or accept deposits toward the purchase of PS3 but getting the PS3 on the day of release is not guaranteed! This is how some retailers are alternatively dealing with the issue of Pre ordering PS3. Now let”s take a look at some retailers who have known, by the customers, to have been dealing with this issue.

• GameCrazy: We received a nice professional letter from the legal department of Hollywood entertainment, a parent company of GameCrazy, that the information on our site in regards to GameCrazy taking pre orders on PS3 is not accurate and asked us to kindly remove the information that have been supplied by our readers throughout the country. So from this, we concluded that GameCrazy is not officially taking any PS3 pre orders at this time. If managers at GameCrazy tell you that they accept pre-order, then they are doing it without the proper authorization from the corporate. So nothing is guaranteed unless somehow managers honor your deposit on the day of release. However, one thing good came out of this massive confusion; GameCrazy is now nationally recognized from the Internet community. That”s right, due to our post about their accepting reservation of PS3, quite bit of people have been calling them everyday inquiring about PS3 pre order. We have had managers e-mailing us to remove their store information from our website due to flood of calls coming to them on a daily basis.
• Gamestops/Ebgames/Funcoland: No official word from them yet. It seems to us that there was a huge manager convention on September to discuss PS3 pre order strategy. There is a rumor going around right now that the company is taking pre orders sometime in October. Please we would like someone to confirm this as there are conflicting stories. Some managers decided to take liberty at taking names and deposits but again, it is not guaranteed as of yet.
• FYE (For Your Entertainment): Folks, we have got 2 rumors going around here. A few people have said that managers at some local FYE are taking reservation of PS3 and some people have stated that pre order of ps3 is not really a pre order but rather your $50 deposit going towards the purchase. The deal is basically first come first serve basis. We would like to gather more information about this so please we would like corporate to e-mail us, and also, we would like our readers to call your local FYE to find out what the deal is on this issue.

In VA Sam Goody has been taking PS3 pre-orders also, no limit so far. I just reserved two. Thanks Moe!

Coconuts- I stopped in Coconuts in Hackensack, NJ and I asked them if they are reserving PS3. They said yes but they are booked until February. I asked how many they are going to receive and they said “four”. I didn”t bother putting $50 down. Hope this info helps. Thanks Mike

You can DEFINITELY preorder on Lik-Sang. I”ve had a preorder since October 2005, whcn they first started taking preorders. It cost me exactly ZERO dollars, as I think it still costs now.

Basically, when more information on price comes about, they will send another email confirming my desire to purchase and allowing me to choose exactly which PS3 I want (Japan or US, gimped version or 60GB) and I must at that point pay some amount.. I am not sure if they”ll ask for the whole thing… Thanks Anon!
