PS3 Ghostbusters is Not HD

Oh dear, it’s happened again, but this time it’s stranger. According to GameZine, the PS3 version of Ghostbusters is not in a HD resolution and is, in fact, at 960×540, whilst the 360 is at proper 720p.

What is especially strange about this is that the lead platform for Ghostbusters was actually the PS3, meaning that it was fully expected to be the other way around, if anything. What does this mean? It means that, if you own both consoles, you’d better spring for the 360 version of the game if you want to avoid low resolution textures and blurred images.

Disappointing? Yes.

Oh damn, seems that the ps3 isn’t that happy with ghostbusters after all, but I guess that it has to do with an old version of the game, I think this game was shelved for an long, long time, well back to the 360 again…

I dont get it, the 360 doesnt have an operating HD optical drive, therefore cannot read or output in HD, right? So when they say games are in 720p, its not full 720p, just upconverted to that resolution, so its not really correct to say its in HD at all.

If DVD’s could play in HD, then there wouldnt have been a need for Blu Ray, right?

a DVD can play in HD, even in 720p, but all it means is you will be able to fit less GAME in a disc, so maybe the game will be in two discs, or the game will be quite short or something. Also, the need for blu-ray is so you don’t watch in 720p, you get a big FULL HD TV and watch in 1080p! 1080p PWNS ALL

i own a ps3 and a 47″ 1080p full hd television. i can assure you, ghostbusters is in full 1080p, and is a fantatstic game loyal to the fans. besides, dan akroyd is IN th game, and who doesn’t think bill murry is funny? each to his own, but i definitly say get it and play it. true fans of the ghostbusters will indeed enjoy it .
