According to an analyst, Nick Parker, PS3 is on course to sell around 4 million units in Europe by next year with 1 to 1.5 million sold in UK. Nick Parker is predicting PS3 will overtake Wii in terms of total sale world wide. Also, the sales of Microsoft?s Xbox 360 have increased just 1% over same period from last year. This is indicative of 360?s demand leveling off ahead of PS3 launch. PS3 will go on sale across the Europe this Friday with about 1 million units hitting the retailers.

I think the most interesting part is that retailers are predicting pre-Christmas price cut for the PS3 system. With part reduction coming for PAL region, the price was expected to go down soon or later. If you?re in North America I suggest you don?t wait for price cut if you intend to use your PS3 to play your old PS2 games. We don?t know when Sony will start selling gimped version of PS3 in North America.
