PS3 Blu-Ray DVD remote review

Playing movies on console has always been more troublesome than playing your movies on stand alone players. Starting with PS2 and Xbox, controlling playback with controllers weren?t exactly the best way to watch movies. With PS3 and Xbox 360, wireless controller made it easier to navigate movies. Microsoft released a great multimedia controller to control its media contents. Following Microsoft, Sony has released its own remote controller with Bluetooth interface. Using Bluetooth interface allows you to use the remote from any angle and direction. However, the Bluetooth interface is not compatible with IR interface. This means you can?t use universal remote in its place.
After watching Talladega Nights – The Ballad of Ricky Bobby with the wireless controller, I decided I wanted the remote controller. Using the PS3 controller for navigation isn?t that bad. But, I found it to be not as intuitive with the directional pad. Also, navigating audio and subtitle is not as easy with the game controller. The remote looks very similar to the PS2 remote. The Blu-ray remote controller comes with basic play back functions seen on regular DVD remote controller. It has the circle, triangle, square, and x button as well. The remote also includes PS button, directional pad, and numerical buttons. The remote lacks backlight which makes it harder to see in dark. Other than that, it is simple and easy remote controller for your Blu-ray movies.

I was wondering if the remote had a button or sequence of buttons you could press to change the resolution. I have a tv that can only display up to 1080i, so I like to play my games at 720p, but have to change the resolution for blu-ray playback to 1080i, otherwise my blu-ray discs play at 480p, since the ps3 cannot play them at 720p (as I would like most, but whatever, haha). Anyway, I was wondering if there was a button on the remote or something that could let me change the display setting resolution on the fly so I don’t have to go into display settings from the XMB everytime I want to play a blu-ray disc. Thanks a bunch!
