Playstation Firmware 2.10
As you’re probably aware, the new Playstation Firmware version 2.10 was released today - and you probaby know what it adds too.
For those who don’t know, it adds AVI and WMV playback to the video, a pitch changer for your mic, and Bitmap 3 in images, and the 1.1 Bluray update. But that’s not all!
‘What?’ I hear you ask - well, let me tell you, you impatient lot. First, go to your music folder and start a song. Now press square. A new visualization has been added, and it’s a planet (earth, actually) - and it looks bloody fantastic. Also, they’ve fixed video thumbnails in folders not playing, and they’ve tweaked the BD/DVD Dynamic Range Control too.
Also, you’re supposed to be able to play original Playstation games (that you’ve got on disk) through remote play on a PSP, but I don’t have a PSP to test it. Could someone please confirm this for me? If it’s true, it’s awesome.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go watch that planet visualization for a while.
