It?s been well documented that Sony has lost some PS3 exclusive titles since its release. While PS2 enjoyed unprecedented success as the market leader, PS3 hasn?t been able to reach that status, especially with the game developers. It is no wonder that third party ?exclusives? have become multi platform titles. In a candor interview with bloggers, Phil Harrison responded to the concerns of losing out the third party exclusives.

According to Harrison, PS3?s lack of installed base can not justify big budget game such as Grand Theft Auto IV. He goes on to say that PS3 will see more third party exclusives in the future. He pointed out the release of Edge toolset to help defray the cost of game development.

With no clear cut winner between the three major platforms, it is highly unlikely to see a major exclusive title for any platform. It just doesn?t make financial sense for any developers to limit their game on third or even half of the market, especially with the rising cost of making next-generation titles.
