If you absolutely positively MUST have the PS3 in your hands this week, then I suggest that you head over to your local Ebay, (located right on your desktop internet browser) and check out the prices. I have seen some sold at under $900. That’s not bad considering the 60gb version costs $630 so basically instead of waiting in line for 2-3 days, you can just pay an extra $270, which in my opinion makes it a great value. Keep in mind that the sooner you act, the cheaper the price will be. The price on these babies are going to start their way to the top again as soon as the majority of the initial “L-Day” PS3’s are sold. Once the supply shrinks down again to only a few hundred being sold at a time, the demand side will kick in and start raising the prices. And don’t even think you will be able to afford one come christmas. Some report that they expect a repeat of launch day prices come christmas. Oh Teh Noes!! Good for scalpers, but not for buyers. So again, if you have about $1,000 and you can’t wait till after christmas, I would advise you to not hold out on the hopes that you will get thrown SONY’s PS3 scraps from now until christmas. Prices may start rising as early as Nov 24th.

ADMIN NOTE: As you can see from Teknospawn’s post, it appears that the exploitation of supply and demand is readjusting to reflect the current market value. There are more sellers and buyer who can afford to pay $2,000 plus therefore, price is significantly coming down. Everyone is selling their PS3s and everyone is expect to make healthy profits. This will not happen if majority of PS3 holders are selling their consoles right away. Again, launch titles are very weak and exploitation is rampant. Furthermore people who camped 2 days are not getting the best return on Investment from their time camping out. Let’s do a simple math, if you camped and for say 36 hours and your initial investment was $645. Your total revenue from selling PS3 60gig is $1200 as of today. $1200 - $645 = $565 and you divide that by 36 hours will come out to be $15.70 an hour compared to a week ago if you had sold your pre order for $2500 would come out to be around $52 an hour. Thats huge difference.
