Novastrike landing on US PSN
A brand new top-down shooter is heading on to the US Playstation Store this week. Novastrike, developed by Tiki Games sees you taking on the forces of evil (in this case the Draelus invasion) in a nippy spaceship called the Scythe.
In the style of similar titles such as Super Stardust HD, you get upgradeable weapons with which to wreak havock on your foes. However, this time you’ll have nine choices to go with. According to Director of Development Kevin McCann, the game doesn’t feature any multiplayer as yet. A disappointment but as he explains, a company their size wanted to focus on getting the core mechanics right first time. Makes sense to me.
You can pick up Novastrike for $9.99. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up against Stardust. There are a few top-down shooters on the market already, but the fact that Tiki have self-published their own game onto PSN might make this worth a look.
