No Heavenly Sword sequel from Ninja Theory
According to a recent discussion with GamingIndustry.biz, Ninja Theory is not developing a Heavenly Sword sequel, and are currently working on a unique IP for both PS3 and Xbox, which is already signed to a publisher.
The UK developer is also considering plan to move in the CGI movie business, and creating a CGI movie to stand alongside the new title.
“We’re certainly targeting a triple-A blockbuster, with two and a half years in production – a big game that builds on our core strengths of story-telling, cinematics and combat. But we’re actually looking at something in addition to that – we’re considering opportunities in creating a CGI movie using the game engine alongside the game itself,†said studio boss Nina Kristensen.
Don’t freak out, fellow games. Although Ninja Theory have confirmed that they’re not working on a new Heavenly Sword sequel, the IP is owned by Sony, which simply means that if there is a sequel, it just means that Ninja Theory won’t be the one developing it.
