No BC On The 40gb PS3 Is A Good Thing

PS3Tag.com lists three major points that explain why having no backwards compatibility on the 40gb PS3 model is actually a very good thing.

I would say the new SKU has the following advantages:
1) It is more affordable
2) It uses 65nm Cell processors, so it runs cooler
3) It is targeted at PS2 owners, multimedia centers, and people who just want the next gen
Disadvantages:
1) A source of FUD and bad PR from fans of other consoles and the media for steadily losing BC
2) Somewhat disheartening for users who own a PS2 and wanted a system that does everything, though this can be ignored since a software emulation wouldn’t be as good as a real PS2 anyways. I played FFX on my 60GB PS3 and on a PS2 on the same HDTV, the PS2 wins in how well the game looks.
