No, Astaroth, I AM Your Father!
PS3Vaulters, I hope you’re ready for a lot of bad Star Wars puns.
Well, the force is strong in Soulcalibur IV, as the PS3 version is getting Darth Vader as a guest character. The Xbox 360 (uck) is getting Yoda. Who would I prefer to get? Well, I’m happy with Vader (though a wookie would be hilarious).
Yes, that’s right, a dash of Star Wars has been mixed into the Soulcalibur dough, announced LucasArts and Namco Bandai yesterday (though not in those words, obviously), which means there’s going to be a lot of bad puns coming our way when the game is released. Which isn’t a bad thing.
Come on, don’t be sceptical - imagine fighting Astaroth as Vader, and saying ‘No, Astaroth, I AM Your Father!’, then your mate collapses in laughter and you disembowell his character. Ahhh, a whole new level of beat ‘em up tactics!

I hate fanboy cr*p, probably because I used to own a 360 and know they are pretty awesome, but I’ve got to say, MS kids got stitched up this time … hmm who do I want to be, Yoda, or Vader??
No contest.
I have to say, I agree with you captain. Being Vader sounds pretty damn sweet… watching the lightsaber clash with the other blades… but in my head it would melt right through… right? haha anyway, it will be cool to see if they intergrate some “force push” or such powers along with it.
BUT! I would also LOVE to play as Yoda… i’m a dedicated PS3 owner but I have to say one of the BESY lightsaber battles was episode 2 between Yoda and Count DooKOO (sp)… I mean all those sick flips and acrobatics.. 360 owners will be having fun with that I’m sure. . . not that they’ll be able to see it in 1080p or anything but it will still be cool ;-P This game will be sweet on both systems as I dont expect it to push the hardware like other multi-platform games do (oblivion, etc).
I would be interested to play an XBOX for a few hours just to see yoda in action… I’m wondering if this sort of thing will happen both ways?
CANT WAIT!!!!
I suppose they COULD patch yoda into the ps3 version, but I’d guess it isn’t too likely.
