It has been 5 years since the last installment of Alone in the Dark came out for playstation 1, and period of absence certainly did not help its franchise with brand recognition like Resident Evil or Silent Hill. Alone in the Dark fans have either moved on or entertaining themselves with clones.

However, recently, a report from Joystiq suggests that next installment of Alone in the Dark is being developed for next-gen consoles. Not much of information or detail has been released to the public but players are once again play the role of Edward Carnby in his dark adventure.

“The title is currently in development at Eden Studios. Said director David Naval, they hope to “challenge the feeling of security and make these elements horrific.” Unfortunately, we have to wait for the new Electronic Gaming Monthly to know more.”
