So Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment has announced a brand new spanking game for the LOTR universe. They have said that the online co-op will be up to three players forming their own fellowship which seems rather small but let’s hope you get to team up with other fellowships to cut down the forces of evil. Martin Tremblay, President of the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has mentioned that this game will be rated 17+, so we might be able to expect a bit of black and red blood along with a few limbs flying about.

The main storyline for this RPG is you’re taking part in the War of The Ring, hence before the actual films. Tremblay goes on about the usual stuff how players will experience original and familiar scenery. He also adds that there will be all the usual RPG stuff like character customization, weapon upgrades and so on. Now apparently Snowblind Studios (creators of Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance) will be helping Warner Bros to develop this game. I am fan of LOTR but I have always been pessimistic about the game based on them. As always though, the teaser trailer for this game does look fun with a subtle hint that you might be able to use the eagles. Let’s keep our eyes and ears open for this game when it comes out sometime in 2011.
