Criterion Games has recently unveiled the official trailer for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit following the games announcement at E3, and you can watch it right here with just a click of your mouse.

The footage roars speed, exhilaration, excitement and action, as a Koenigsegg CCX and a Pagani Zonda attempt to outrun a police pursuit lead by a Bugatti Veyron and a Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 – oh, and a helicopter that can deploy spike strips from the air...

Though Criterion’s trailer doesn’t feature any glimpses of actual gameplay, the CGI seen here is absolutely first-rate. It might be too early to say, but we’re confident that, like Burnout Paradise, this racer is going to be a huge hit.

Speaking at the expo, Criterion's Creative Director Craig Sullivan said:

“At Criterion, we’ve been playing Need for Speed since it was first introduced on 3DO. We are honoured and excited by the opportunity to reinvent the franchise for today’s connected audience. Our goal has been to create cops vs. racers pursuits that are so fun, fast and exciting, they really bring to life the adrenaline and intensity of the high-speed cop pursuit experience with your friends.”

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is scheduled for release on November 16th 2010 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Check it out.
