Namco Bandai to subvert Newtonian Theory in upcoming Shooter Inversion

Namco Bandai has joined up with Timeshift developer Saber Interactive to produce Inversion, a unique third-person shooter that’ll have Isaac Newton turning in his grave.
As police officer Davis Russell, players will be tasked with locating his missing son after an alien species invades Earth and creates a gravitational imbalance; in one district you’ll be walking on solid ground, in another you’ll be scurrying across the ceiling. Conveniently, Russell’s futuristic arsenal features a gravity-manipulating Grappler weapon able to lift, move and throw objects of considerable size, which can be used to shift obstacles, provide cover from gunfire, or (more appealingly) pound extraterrestrial enemies into the ground. Or ceiling.
Saber CEO Matthew Karch comments:
‘We are doing things in Inversion that most people didn’t think possible on the current generation of consoles. We can’t wait to get Inversion in the hands of gamers.’
Prepare to have your world turned upside-down sometime in 2010.
