Earlier we reported that a Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 bundle was coming this summer. Now, we have a date - June 12, 2008. Konami announced the release date today in a press release.

Konami also answered several key questions about MGS4 as well as pre order bonuses. First, we have details on the Multiplayer Starter Pack and the Metal Gear Online which will be included as part of MGS4. It will support up to 16 players and will be a squad based tactical shooter. In order to get us excited about this part of the game, Konami has included two special bonuses for gamers that pre-order the game when it becomes available in April of this year. First, customers will receive the Metal Gear Saga 2.0 DVD which includes a prologue summing up the series, a 20th anniversary retrospective on the series itself, character bios and a collection of trailers for MGS4. And here’s the coolest part - included in the pre-order will be a download code and instructions to participate in the MGS Online Beta when it launches on April 21st, 2008. The beta will last approximately 2 weeks.

Metal Gear Solid 4 will be the final game in the series and will feature Solid Snake facing off against Liquid Ocelot in various stages around the world. Helping out Snake will be a cast of characters including Meryl Silverburgh, Roy Campbell and Raiden. Snake will also have skills and features like new Close Quarters Combat moves and a new camouflage system to help him on his mission.
