Mass Effect 2 PC programming code hints at PS3 release?
Now, I’m no techie, so when it comes to interpreting programming code I’m as much use as a dyslexic in a spelling competition. For that reason, I have no option other than trust the source of this information and hope what’s been understood is genuine, because we really want it to be.
Back in October last year we found out that Jay Watamaniuk, previously Bioware’s Community Manager, had hinted during a presentation at Poznan Game Arena that Mass Effect 2 would 'probably' reach the PlayStation 3. Today Kikoo published a section of source code written for PC version of Mass Effect 2, containing what appear to be command prompts which specifically mention the PS3. See below:

Could this segment of cryptic text be confirmation that the currently PC and Xbox 360-exclusive action RPG will reach the PS3 one day? Our fingers (and toes) are firmly crossed. Are yours?
Update: Bioware has responded to speculation about a PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 on the Bioware Forum, explaining that “the Unreal Engine is cross platform, hence the PS3 code. This was brought up back in Mass Effect 1 days as well. Mass Effect is for the PC and Xbox 360.”
Another rumour bites the dust.

Thanks for the informative explanation though. It's appreciated. FYI, I've updated this post in light of word from Bioware on the subject.
I hope it comes to the PS3 as most companies now are doing multiplatform games.
I think it will come the PS3 as Dragon Age was a big success on the PS3!
I do think the title will hit the consoles eventually, but this string is by no means a sign of it. The reason I say this is because normally when you program, you program for the engine not the console specifically. That means that one command should do the same thing for all versions. No porting the software over, that's another matter, that's its own code structure, but things like the Character Editing has nothing to do with specific consoles.
But know that it will come to PS3 Sooner or later. It just may not be until the series is complete, be it this game or another down the road.
