Manhunt 2 - Will we ever see this in the UK?
January will bring us the next chapter of the saga that is the controversial Manhunt 2 game being released in the UK.
Just to help anyone who has been holidaying in a cave for the past 12 months, Manhunt 2 is a exceptionally violent follow up to Manhunt, which to all intents and purposes was a serial killer simulation, that had been banned form the UK shores by the British Board of Film Classifications (BBFC), a decision which was then overturned by the Video Appeals Committee (VAC) paving the way for a 2008 release.
Now in a further twist it seems that the law referenced to allowed the appeal in the first place had been misquoted by the VAC according to the BBFC. This leaves a massive loop hole that the BBFC can step into and block its release once and for all.
What this will mean for Manhunt 2, and indeed future adult themed releases, will have to be seen when the court mulls over this thorny issue early next year.
Is it just me or does all this sound like a great pilot for a primetime court room drama?
