Logitech ChillStream controller review

Logitech introduced a unique PS3 controller when Sony launched PS3 in North America. The controller uses patented ChillStream technology which circulates air around your hand with built-in 40 mm fan. The vents are strategically placed around your hand to cool all your fingers and palm. There are two fan speeds, low and high. Out of the package, the first thing you?ll notice is the size of the controller. The controller itself is little bigger than the stock PS3 controller. For the gamers with bigger hands, this should fit more comfortably than the stock PS3 controller. Other thing you?ll immediately notice is the lack of PS button for the controller. The controller uses good materials such as rubber grips and steel mesh for the vents.

The controller does exactly what it promises to do, keep your hands sweat free. I?ve played Madden 07 for few hours straight and I did not get bothered by sweaty palm. The button placed below left thumb pad controls the speed of fan. The LED indicator will let you know the speed of the fan. The feel of rubber grip was a good complement to the fan as it provided good grip. As COOL as the controller is, it lacks the SIXAXIS motion sensor feature on the regular PS3 controller. Also, there were some issues trying to play PS2 games with the controller. The battery life was not an issue even with fans running at full speed. At $39.99 retail, it is not a bad option for second controller.
