According to Reuters.com Sony will release the game, both as a retail disc and as a digital download, through PlayStation Network on Oct 21?
Fact or Rumour?

Tell us what you think.
I will keep you updated on this story as it progresses. *If It Does*
Personaly tho, i would purchase my copy of the game from retail *Blu Ray* I think its a better option.

I’m not sure. As nice as it is to have it on a disc, I find just being able to run it at any time without fumbling around with boxes and eject buttons (well, touch…screen…thing) equally attractive.
I prefer to have some games on disc.. incase,, your account gets.. hacked.. banned or suspended.
hahaha
Rumour and a dumb one at that.
LBP is over 40 gigs and will use most of the blue ray disk sony have already announced thiswould be a retail release only.
I agree with Psychofishkiller…
I would really love to see a downloadable version, because i´m at brazil and it´s very dificult and expensive to get new games here… downloading is much better!
The only trick is shrinking the tutorial videos down to a smaller size which is what takes up most of that 40GB blu-ray disc. I can see them offering a PSN download after 3-6 months. This is one of the few games I would consider for digital download (since you can never resell them) just for the convenience of being able to play “another” game on rare ocassions when I’m not playing LBP
cant wait. im gonna get the bluray for sure
Haha, I think psychofishkiller really hit the nail on the head with that one!
Sure, they’re gonna offer a LOT of DLC from the PSN, but not the entire game! I hope they add in the online level-editing feature fairly quickly, because whilst the rest of the game has enough depth to keep us occupied for a very long time, my friends and I have already planned our online mess-arounds, so removing this feature was a disappointment. Oh, and whilst I hope they don’t charge for it, I wouldn’t be surprised, especially when the game has so much potential and it’s retailing at only £34 in many places.
I certainly will NOT be downloading it from the super slow and pretty useless PSN store.
Disc is the only option.
The PSN store is still a nightmare to use and is absolutely pathetically slow. Sort it out Sony, you’ve only had 2 years!!!!
Hmm, I find the PSN store to be very fast and smooth. Think about it - unless EVERYONE is having the same experience as you, you probably just have a crap ISP…
Yep - have to agree with Snazzy - I’ve had no problems with the Sony store, only my ISP whose service is temperamental to say the least. Can’t wait for the game though…downloadable games are a great idea and one I think Sony should develop further as this is the REAL future of gaming. The only problem with it is hard drive space. I’m still on the 60Gb version and, despite all my diligent ‘pruning’ of old game data, it is beginning to look a little sparse at the moment.
it wouldn’t bother me one bit if it were a PSN download. I would actually prefer it.
