Little big Planet will receive it’s biggest update to date on November 30th, and it’s free.
UPDATE 1.21 will contain loads new features such as, online create tools, increased profile space, improved network and save reliability.

Online create will allow players to connect with up to three of their friends over the network and create a very unique level simultaneously adding their own tidbits of awesome to the level.

Network fixes and location-based matchmaking “We’ve rewritten both the way the game handles networking code and the way it finds people for you to play with when you hit ‘Play Online’. Now, it searches for people who are closer to you and more likely to have a lower ping. This should bring significent improvements to lag and other networking problems. The POD Computer will first try to match based on location, if this fails it will fall back to matchmaking with any location.”

Saving your game “We’ve changed the way your saved games work to make it faster, more flexible and more robust. It also means you’ll be able to save way more stuff.”
On the Playstation 3 there are two locations that save files reside in, the Game Data folder and the Save Data folder. Media Molecule are changing the format so that all of your Save Files will be put into Game Data, this allows for greater space.
Additionally you can now backup individual Level’s from your moon strait to a storage device

Increased profile space and other cool features On top of the extra space provided by the Game Data switch you now have an increased amount of space for costumes and stickers to be stored in your POPIT menu system.

• If you do not finish a level you played online, a silver sackboy medal will be displayed and to obtain a gold medal you must finish the level.
• There is now an ‘auto-reject’ option to stop incoming game invites from persistently annoying friends.
• Race gets in the Level Creator and be made smaller and thinner.

Lots of new features coming to Little Big Planet may actually give me a reason to dust off the case and pop in the disc.
