. Blade Runner, I Am Legend and many, many more! Lionsgate Films to Add Interactivity to Saw IV
Promising to push the limits of next-gen interactivity, Lionsgate says its January Blu-ray release of ‘Saw IV’ will allow consumers to blog about the flick directly from a web-connected Blu-ray player. This feature, called “MoLog” for Movie Blog, will allow consumers to create and share their own content (which may or may not add value) via blog entries.
‘Saw IV’ is the second announced Blu-ray title from Lionsgate to include web-connected features. Last week at the Web 2.0 conference in Los Angeles, it was revealed that the studio plans to include a network-connected game on its Jan 1 release of ‘War,’ which Lionsgate says will allow fans to play each other online.
At this time, it’s not clear whether or not any Blu-Ray players will have the capabilities to access these features known as BD-Live, making this the most exciting (almost) development since the time Tiffany Underhill almost let me take her to Senior Prom (oh how I longed to be the last man on Earth but I digress….). However, we all know that the first player to get these features will be the PS3. This has been rumored but Sony has not confirmed. Stay tuned for further developments.
