Left 4 Dead 2 On PS3?

According to EA’s official site, a PS3 version of Left 4 Dead 2 is slated for a Fall 2009 release. Could EA be porting the game over to the PS3? It seems rather strange that only weeks after E3 there would be such a big mistake on the official site.
However, take this news with a grain of salt. It is most likely just a mistake, but, you know. If only. Let us know what you think in the comment section. Do you care? Is it something you would like to see on the PS3? We will keep you posted on any developments.

If the claim is true, well then so much for the “PS3 is too difficult speech.”
Then again, if it isn’t true and it’s just a hoax, it’s THEIR loss.
If so, happy to finally get to play Left for Dead on my PS3.
Seems like as much of a no brainer as you are going to get, but this is EA we are talking about – who released the sequel to my Favorite game – Dead Space PS3, in retardo-vison for the Wii.

Personally, I would not regret of L4D or any Valve game ever came to the PS3 platform again. Valve has been so uninterested in supporting the PS3 platform that if a new game comes to the platform its just about a cash grab and not about making quality games for the PS3. How can you diss a system for so many years and then turn around and bring a successful franchise to the PS3? Is Gabe going to shuffle his feet and go “Ah shucks, I never meant what I said before, please buy my game cause we need the money”? IMHO, L4D2 has been about profiteering, not about making a quality sequal, so I am not surprised at the idea of whoring it on the PS3 platform as well, which is what EA does best, support anything with a screen and a button.

REMOVED? WHY…? That’s just unprofessional of EA/possibly Valve to post something like that.
I have to retort at what Topher is saying because EA often support all consoles from the beginning of their franchises, or stick to one console all the way – if you want to find not so much console-leaping, but moreso pure PROFITEERING, then look no further than Activision (their partners in crime in terms of CoD, Treyarch, are built solely for profit, it makes me so angry).
I’m sure it was just a mistake.
Who give a shit ! the first one was utter rubbish so don’t worry about the second because from what I’ve heard it’s pretty much the same bullshit, from the most overated developer on the planet VALVE.

I really hope this isn’t a mistake as I really want this game for the PS3. Everything about this game is awesome.
If the game really comes out on the PS3, all of you PS3 owners should go get a bluetooth microphone for the PS3 so that everyone can communicate.

What are you talking about? You can connect at least 4 controllers to the PS3 at a time. I’m pretty sure you can connect more than that.
the ps3 can have seven controlers at a time the usb ports are only for charging and prohifreals
they need to bring that game out on ps3! and dumb fuck up there nathan 222x fagg face! you can still play online, and you can still connect 2 controlls by usb and play it. plus its a great game, it would be a mistake for EA not to bring it out on ps3! just to expand their fan rage for the game and its more profit! either that or people who dont like what comes out for the ps3, can just go by a 360 and stop bitchin!
if L4D 2 actually came to ps3 i would buy it, although the controls would feel quite weird…
All you damn people complaining about Valve lieing about a ps3 port need to grow the fuck up! Valve never once said anything about porting it. EA did and thats why EA sucks.. they need to stick to the crappy sports games they make!

If it did come out on the PS3, VALVE would obviously design it to use the main processor only.

I find it quite ridiculous that we are having to go into so much of a panic about this. Left 4 Dead 2 is an AWESOME game and I’ll admitt I was really bummed when I found out that I can’t play it on the PS3 I’m getting this Christmas (since my ever so “reliable” 360 got the red ring of death… thanks Microsoft). However, if the VALVE company is just going to stand back like a bunch of midnless idiots, so be it. They are oblivious to the fact that releasing it for the PS3 would bring them in even more money than they are already making. Oh and the BS about “it’s too hard to make PS3 games” way to keep up with the technology guys. *claps* Oh and way to admitt that the PS3 is better than the 360 since apparently the technology is much less of a challenge for you.
What is all the fuss about?! Left 4 Dead 2 was the biggest waste of 2 hours of my life! It was senseless and boring. It will be a game I will never play again, especially when there are so many BETTER games out there.
Ive been playing Left 4 dead 2 and its what the first one should have been really it is fun but its too similar to play over and over especially after playing so much of the first game. what id rather see is an open world zombie game like grand left auto with zombies would be far better. I want a PS3 sooooo bad im a student though and dont have the money. you guys get GT5 and all i can get is forza 3

Ps3 Doesn’t deserve L4D2. My PS3 is basically just a $500 paperweight and has totally turned me off console gaming as a whole. Not to mention that nobody would actually buy a ps3 version of L4D2. I mean, look at the terrible port of The Orange Box for PS3.

The PS3 is a great console, but I’m dissapointed to see a lot of great games such as L4D2 that aren’t on it. I’ve played the game on the XBox at my friends, and I really like it and want it for my PS3.I’ve heard that Valve was certainly not going to make it, but EA might have posted it up because I heard that there will be a chance of another company or whatever that might make L4D2for PS3. God let what I heard be true.

Im a ps3 and a 360 owner i think valve just cant come up wit the code for a blu ray disc and look rockstar came to an agreement and realesed gta san andreas for x box and later gta 4 for both ps3 and 360 and my personal opinion gta is better on the ps3 so valve should put L4D 2 for the ps3
Vavle and EA are being idiots by not releasing this game for the PS3 earlier. There are currently around 38 million registered PS3s worldwide and this number is going to hit 40 then 50 million before long. From all the fuss over L4D2, it seems to me that lots of people would buy it and probably more than a few, who are currently against it coming out on the PS3/saying they won’t buy it, would buy it as well. Overall they would be looking at another 5million+ sales, easy.
If Valve got off their backsides and learned to program for PS3 then they would have such a huge fan base. I like the HL2 games and I am going to buy the next episodes when they are released. I would love them to all be released on the PS3 as I don’t have the money to upgrade my pc to be able to play them all in mid-high graphics.
This kind of idiocy just irritates me.
