Killzone for PS3 will cost more than $20 mill to make
Gamespot has recently learned through a Dutch news paper called de Volksrant that the highly anticipated next gen sci-fi thriller Killzone for PS3 will cost more to develop than the most expensive film in Dutch history, a World War II movie called the Black Book. “Our budget tops [the film],” said Killzone director Arjan Brussee. “We”re working on the biggest multimedia project in Dutch history.” Amsterdam-Based and Sony owned Guerilla Games will employ around 120 people to work on Killzone due to the “labor-intensive development nature of graphically demanding next-generation games”. Another reason why the next gen title will cost more to make is the developer”s ambition to translate Killzone into 40 different languages which will generate additional 30% to 40% sales. Lastly, the developer also hinted that Killzone will utilize PS3″s network capability to distribute “chapters” to make the game more episodic (on going) and interesting just like what Valve is doing with Half Life 2.
