Since the day I purchased my PS3, I had the system on top of my stand alone DVD player. I thought it was pretty ghetto for $600 machine to sit on top of DVD player. Not to mention bad air circulation for the unit. After having good experience with INTEC Pro Gamers Case, I decided to get this vertical stand. The stand emits either blue or red light. This function can be turned off and is powered through the USB port. PS3 felt very secure in its place. It did not feel like it was going to tip over with simple sneeze. The red or blue light was fun for about 30 minutes. I most likely won?t use the light feature in the future as it adds nothing to game play. One of the major flaw was that the stand blocked the media card reader door. If you own 20 GB version, this isn?t an issue. I don?t have use for the media cards but if you need to use it for any reason, I suggest you skip this stand. Other than that, the stand does very good job of securing PS3 in vertical position.
